SUMMIT CLASSES

Sutter Peak is excited to offer Summit Classes taught by our very own amazing Sutter Peak Teachers!

Summit Classes are offered online or in person and take place once a week. Each class targets a specific grade level or, grade level span, and focuses on instruction in ELA or Math through intriguing concepts and engaging activities. Classes are limited to 15 students per class.

In this in-person class, K-2 students will engage with letters and numbers through interactive games, stories and fun projects with friends.

Come join us in person for literacy centers in Roseville at the Martha Riley library . Each week we will play games and complete word work that correlates with the lessons in "Explode the Code". Students will need Explode the Code book 2.

This class is for TK-2nd grade Early Literacy/Early Readers using Epic books via zoom. We will read 1-2 books per class, work on reading comprehension, early literacy skills and foster the love of reading and learning with friends!

In this online class, students will be engaged with lots of interactive blending and decoding practice. We will focus on phonics, sight words, and nonsense word practice.

Let’s face it! You’re going to use math in real-world situations for the rest of your life. Let’s practice working with sales tax, discounts, recipes, budgeting, finding the better deal, etc.

Meet us in person at the Rio Linda library for Math and ELA lessons supporting foundational skills. This hour will consist of a mini grammar lesson, a short math lesson, and an educational game. All of the lessons will align with CCSSs and the educational games will build onto math and grammar concepts.

Thursdays @ 11am - Building Math Confidence with Games (3-4)

3rd and 4th grade mathematicians, this class is geared to help students build confidence through learning math vocabulary and playing games. The goal is to help them feel more comfortable to take the Math Caaspp Assessment in April. Each class will begin with a lesson to learn/review math vocabulary and then end with a trivia game or interactive video. Students need to bring a whiteboard and pen to class.
