Up Up and Away

Meet our very own Sutter Peak Pilot, Elijah. He is taking flight lessons at Wings Flight School at Nut Tree Airport in Vacaville. The scholarship he won, that is helping to pay for it, is from AOPA's High School Learn to Fly Scholarship program. Elijah has been working very hard in the program and took his first solo flight on Wednesday, August 28th.

When people solo for the first time, it is a tradition to cut the tails off of the pilot's shirt .The back of his shirt is what he is holding (along with his textbook) in his picture.

This plane is the one Elijah flew on his first solo flight.
